I had a go at a fun training project on skillshare... Illustration with Draplin: Iterating with Shape, Style, and Color
Please follow the link to check it out and have a go yourself. It's a great course by the famous Aaron Draplin. Oh and please give my project a like if you get the chance.
I started by collecting some inspiration online + I made a visit to the town museum and took a few photos around town myself.

For the main focus I chose the character from the Mildenhall Treasures' Great Dish, Oceanus...

Another big focus in my image is the Mildenhall Town Market Cross which then was developed to create a better shaped icon...

More progress below, creating the background town. I started off far too detailed then went with silhouttes like in Aarons' tutorial as it works far better in the final image. Also below is the KC-135 aircraft illustration I used from a previous project.

Work on the shape of the final image below and putting together all of the Mildenhall elements...

Colours! Still not 100% but here is what I have come up with. Please mention your favourite colours or anything else in the comment section below.

The Final image! Really pleased with it. It's been a great little course. Thanks Mr. Draplin for all the tips and advice in the course videos.
